We’re a volunteer community organization organized in 2017 to preserve the state- and federally-listed historic Albion River Bridge, the nearby Salmon Creek Bridge, and the highly scenic and environmentally sensitive local, regional, national, and international treasure that is the Albion coastal environment.
We’ve documented the many public hearings that Caltrans has held in our area, participated in Mendocino County and California Coastal Commission meetings, and worked with attorneys and land use consultants — all with the goal of advocating for the preservation of the beautiful bridges and ribbon of highway that showcase the beauty of the Mendocino Coast.
Important Information
Our organization advocates for the preservation of the historic Albion River Bridge through lawful public processes. We do not own, operate, maintain, or control the bridges, and we do not make or provide safety determinations. Responsibility for public safety, inspection, maintenance, and operational decisions rests solely with the appropriate public agencies.
We are not engineers and do not provide technical evaluations. Our advocacy relies on publicly available information and third-party analyses prepared by qualified professionals. Any engineering conclusions referenced are attributable to their original authors.
Nothing in our advocacy should be construed as an assertion of control over the bridges, their operation, or public safety decisions. Our organization does not assume, and expressly disclaims, any duty of care to users of the bridge.
